Check In Poker and other betting actions
Any rules of the game start with player options, no matter whether these are the rules for online slots or roulette gambling systems, players require basic knowledge of actions allowed in the game. The players in all poker usually act one by one clockwise around the poker table. Prior the first bet is posted in the betting round the gambler can choose to check in poker (to pass the turn to act without posting the chips into the game pot) or open round (that means to make the first bet). Then the players may choose to call the preceding bet by posting the equal number of chips into the game pot; or raise the bet by increasing the last bet; or just fold which means to forfeit the cards and stop competing for the pot. So, study all online casino betting options in details.
Open
Opening betting means to make the first voluntary bet in the betting round if there hasn't been any bet or the players have chosen to check in poker round. In the game variations with the blinds structure these compulsory bets open betting and the next player can just raise or call the previous bet. There are some poker rules which state that the player, for example, must have some particular cards or contribute different amounts into the game pot to open betting.
Call
To call is to match the previously made bet or raise. According to the poker rules every betting round is over after all gamblers at poker table contributed the equal amount to the game pot after re-raises and raises. Several calls made on one bet are the overcalls. When the gambler which has weak hand chooses to call this is a crying call. At times the term "to see"can be applied meaning to call, that is why the phrase "I see you" is the same as "I call".
Check
In case the betting round hasn't been opened the gambler may check in poker round. In fact it means that the player call the currant bet with zero. When the gambler checks he or she does not post the chips to the game pot but stays in the hand and it is the turn of the next poker player to wager. If all the players at the poker table chose to check in poker round the betting is finished.
Raise
This option means that the player may increase the last bet and force the opponents to call this raise in order to stay in the hand. If the gambler raises the last raise it is re-raise. Traditionally the the raise must be equal to the size of the previous raise or bet. Furthermore, in some poker games with the spread-limit and fixed-limit structures the possible quantity of raises in each round is set. In the no-limit and pot-limit games there are no such restrictions.
Fold
To fold means to give up the hand and not compete for the pot, no matter if there was check in poker round, call or raise. So the player who folds mustn't place more bets and still he/she can not win even if his or her hand finally turns out to be the best. Since the discards are called the muck the player betting option to fold is also known as to muck. In different poker variants the gambler may fold in different ways: to indicate the choice in words or to discard the hand face down to cards that are not used in currant game.
